My name is Marit Sævig Stockmann, born and raised on the island of Stord, but right now I live alternately on Stord and in Spain. I am social, creative, caring, curious, hardworking, kind, active, energetic, and impulsive, and certainly other qualities if you meet me.

For the last 20 years, before I started studying art and graphic design, I worked many years in the power industry, first as an IT consultant for 13 years, then in the Administration.

A few years ago, I took the chance, and started as a student in Graphic Design (which is completed in June 2022). At the same time, I started at Visual Arts Education at Nydalen Art School in Oslo, where I have completed a two-year study in visual arts. For further development, I am currently attending tutoring classes with the Norwegian artist Henriette E. Finne.

This website introduces me as an artist and shows paintings for sale. My studios, where I paint, are currently in Spain, but the plan is to set up a studio on Stord as well.

It has been some incredibly exciting, challenging and not least educational years. The importance of leaving traces has been a recurring theme for my work and expression.

How we manage the transitions in life is absolutely crucial to how we get it! My driving force has been: One thing towards my goals every day!
